Smoothing Data, Engineering Insights, Hitting Homers
I'm a British freelance data engineer and architect based between greater Belfast and Prague, with a penchant for analytics, probability, and the kind of data engineering that keeps working when you stop looking at it.
Over the last decade I've delivered high-impact data platforms across private equity, FTSE 100s, startups, and scale-ups throughout the UK and throughout the world — helping ambitious teams turn messy data into commercial leverage.
Currently taking commissions in sports analytics — building end-to-end analytics systems for teams and athletes that turn raw data into competitive edge.
From ingestion and warehouse modelling through to probabilistic forecasting and decision support, the focus is always the same: improving performance, sharpening tactical decisions, and uncovering marginal gains that compound over a season.
Particularly drawn to ice hockey and boxing — sports where the analytics infrastructure is still underdeveloped, and the opportunity to add real value is high. From a one-off predictive model to a full data-platform build — engagements scaled to any stack, any budget.
Outside of client work, you're as likely to find me cheering on HC/AC Sparta Praha as my native Belfast Giants, suffering quietly through another White Sox season, café-hopping in central Europe, high-scoring the local Street Fighter arcade machine, or attending punk and hardcore shows in various DIY venues across Europe.
